Rewards Systems and the Role of Compensation

This article argues that there is more to reward systems than just monetary compensation. It discusses the importance of both intrinsic and extrinsic rewards to employees and points out the importance of management developing a reward philosophy which is consistent with its policies. Finally it discusses a variety of compensation systems and the dilemmas involving these systems.
